Built in the 18th Century, the rustic barn retains many original features, but with hidden insulation and modern heaters it is a cosy atmosphere for your celebration.
You are free to decorate the barn to your taste. The barn can be used for the ceremony as well as the reception, or you can marry outside on the lawn, in the woods or in a marquee. There is a small stage, and a well-stocked bar, as well as a hay loft where guests can escape to chat and relax.
The farm is surrounded by the rolling hills of the Clyde Valley, and has a two acre woodland garden for guests to explore. Hebridean Sheep, alpacas and horses graze the fields around the farm. The Bride and Groom can stay in the four poster room of the 18th Century Farmhouse.
Richard runs the bed and breakfast as well as the farm. He worked for the United Nations and the British Army before moving to Biggar. With years of experience of helping people organise events, large and small, he is on hand to help you plan and run a celebration that is unique to you.
1) Expected capacity is 120 seated
2) Maximum evening capacity is 160
3) The rental of the Barn is from 1100 on Friday until 1500 on Sunday.
4) Alcohol may be served from 0900 until 2345 on Saturday and on other days by prior arrangement.
5) The event must end at 2359 on Saturday evening.
6) The barn must be cleared of all guests by 0030.
Utilities and Space
7) The rental includes:
i) The whole of the building known for exclusive use
(a) excluding the service area behind the bar.
ii) Utilities (Electricity, Lighting, Heating, Water) – reasonable use.
iii) Use of the small commercial kitchen and appliances by qualified staff.
iv) The provision of a fully stocked pay bar by serviced by the farm’s staff on Saturday for the times requested. (between 0900-2345)
v) The whole of the curtilage around the farmhouse of the farm for exclusive use of guests, including the farm yards, kitchen garden and front lawns/woods.
(1) Guests must respect the noise requirements of the terms and conditions.
vi) The parking area as designated on the Front Field (for up to sixty cars).
(1) Additional parking /overflow parking is available.
vii) The parking area in the farm yard (limited to use by catering staff, band members, other staff and disabled guests or others by prior arrangement)
