We’re the closest you can get to a legal outside wedding in the UK. If you’re dreaming of a woodland wedding, green wedding, wedding by water or perhaps a camping wedding then you’ve come to the right place. Our wood, willow and canvas Pavilion isn’t on a manicured lawn but really outdoors; by a clear brook & under a canopy of oak and ash in a secret 20 acres of Cornish woodland.
You might be drawn to a vision of a fairy glade; where you exchange your vows by woodland and stream before musicians on fiddle and flute play you past banks of foxglove and wild rose. Children clutching posies skip alongside as you walk hand in hand to a tented space filled with food and flowers. Later candles in paper lanterns and tiny lights shine softly across the music and dancing – long after little ones are tucked up in their tipis.
You could be stirred by the rise of the eco-wedding; thinking green and sustainably from the beginning, you want to arrange ceremony and reception close to one another to reduce miles travelled, low impact accommodation for everyone to stay in, local suppliers of seasonal food and drink, in fact everything as low carbon and earth friendly as it can be.
Well, we didn’t set out to be wedding planners, but found that the beauty & privacy of our site started to attract couples who felt that we could provide something genuinely different for their big day.
It’s also become clear that there is a real desire for weddings with a strong spiritual element and a sense of place that isn’t being catered for through the traditional routes of Church, Registry Office or smart hotel.
Lots of people really want to celebrate their love in a more imaginative way & they want their union celebrated outside – not just outside the dusty confines as above – but outside in the living breathing environment with the magical four elements of air, fire, earth & water. We started hosting weddings in 2009.
“The ceremony took place in a clearing in the woods. Guests sat on hay bales and sipped champagne…The band was fantastic, the company even better and we finished it off sleeping in a tipi and waking to a fantastic day of fishing and swimming in the lake.”
“The wedding site is set in a pretty clearing surrounded by woodland and streams. There is a beautiful wood, willow and canvas pavilion where the wedding ceremony is held, with the sunlight twinkling on the floor as it streams through the trees”.
