Thurning Hall is a beautiful, historic period country house set in approx 12 acres of woodland, informal, walled secret gardens and meadow. The estate is set within an unspoilt view of the rural, Norfolk countryside. The house has decadent, period decor with original features all of which create a glamourous backdrop for your wedding. The drawing room is licensed for civil ceremonies, civil partnerships, baby naming and vow renewal ceremonies for up to 50 guests. For larger ceremonies the gardens offer the perfect setting for a duo ceremony with the most magnificent space to hold an outstanding marquee reception.
I am the owner and custodian of Thurning Hall. The house has been in my family since 1947. My mother first licensed Thurning in 1996 when the new law allowed ‘places of interest’ to be licensed for the solominization of marriage. I have over 21 years of experience with weddings and events within my home. I love watching my couples choose their ideas and make Thurning their own space to impress their guests. Nothing makes me happier than a happy couple to wed in my favourite place that is Thurning. I’m available as much or as little as required.
Thurning Hall allows you to make flexible choices from a list of service providers approved by us. The house is only used for ceremonies and drinks receptions for up to 50 guests. We provide a beautiful backdrop so expect all rubbish to be removed and the house and gardens to be left as found. Entertainment must be finished by 12 to vacate by 12.30am.
