Meet the host

Naomi and Adam Black

We are the owners of the business. We live on site and manage all the day to day goings on. This business is completely a way of life for us. We have had our site for 7 years and started it from scratch. We offer holidays for our guests in the main. We have had numerous exclusive hires since we started including wedding celebrations, corporate groups and special birthdays and so are familiar in organising catering and activities for our groups that stay. We are very approachable and always here to help.

House rules

Minimum 3 night weekend or 4 night mod week hire.
Accommodation for 54 guests in our accommodation – normal house rules apply for stays with us.
Can not accommodate bookings during the main part of the 6 weeks summer holiday.
The site is blank canvas for a taylor made festival wedding.

We arrived as a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 8yo) in August for a week’s stay in one of the yurts at this site. We were immediately impressed with the facilities and the welcome we received. The owners explained everything we needed to know, and made sure we knew where to find them if we needed anything else.
The yurt itself was spacious, with plenty of room for the 3 of us, it would fit 4 comfortably. there was a double bed and 2 futons that can be used as single beds. A table with four chairs was also inside. All crockery, cutlery, and implements for cooking were provided. The wood-burning stove was only used briefly, but was well-maintained, and lit easily with the provided tinder and logs, warming the yurt very quickly, enough to quickly dry clothing that was wet through from the beach. A single electricity point was available.
The yurt’s platform also included an outside table with four chairs and parasol, and a kitchen area including a 3-ring gas stove and small fridge.
On site were male / female toilet / shower areas, that were sufficient to never have queues while we were there, and hot water was available throughout the day. A washing up area at the reverse of the shower block had 2 sinks, with complementary washing up liquid and sponges in case anyone had been forgetful.
For reacreation, there was a games room including a pool table, a table tennis table, and various lawn games. A communal camp fire was set each night weather permitted, and marshmallow-toasting was encouraged! A communal “paella evening” was available one night, which unfortunately we weren’t able to experience due to being on a day out.
The site also included a small farm, with children able to visit the animals (goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits) under supervision. This also provided a supply of fresh eggs available for purchase!
In the local area (within a 15-minute walk) were 2 pubs, a number of takeaays, and a Co-Op supermarket, providing for almost every need. A Morrisons and Aldi were within a 15-minute drive if needed.

The round house is so luxurious, Naomi and Adam have thought of everything. The decor is beautiful, very tasteful, and everywhere is so clean. The outside kitchen area is quirky and there is everything you could possibly need in any kitchen. We bbq’d for tea and breakfast every day and relaxed in the hot tub most evenings after experiencing the lovely sites of Bude during the day.

Summerleaze beech was lovely and the water was great too once you braved the initial shock!!! we made use of taking our bikes and cycled along the canal which was really enjoyable and at the other end we found The Wier, a really nice bistro/Bar that served a lovely chilled Cornish cider. One meal at The Brendon Arms, a gorgeous freshly cooked fish and chips, best fish we have had for a long time.

We only travelled an hour to get to the venue, but we could have been anywhere. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and can’t wait to go back. Thank you Naomi and Adam you made us feel so welcome and that we were special, with all your thoughtful touches … truly fabulous.

PS..The yurts look fab and are spaced sympathetically away from each other but if you want a special treat The Round House is the one to choose, private and luxurious. i can only imagine that the apartments are just as exquisite and tastefully done… can’t recommend enough.
