Did you know Space & Rock is based in the windswept and rural wilds of Cornwall? Down here in the far west, city weddings just don’t exist! We’ve no cosmopolitan hub, no urban cool. Perhaps that’s why we’re just loving Space & Rock’s ever growing selection of city spaces. Check out this brilliant selection, all currently listed on Space & Rock.
Kicking off with the capitol, we are head over heals in love with our blank canvas space. What colour works for a wedding…..white! This white box of a venue means you can inject as much or as little of your style as you wish and it will always look stunning!
If you want somewhere quirky, different, and entertaining, how about a boutique bowling alley or an arts centre with cinema. We think these spaces are perfect for vintage and retro weddings, small weddings, or even ones with lots of kids.
Our cities are packed full of old industrial spaces being rejuvenated in every way imaginable. We love this old paper mill in Cardiff which has been transformed into a graffiti gallery. The gallery has a complete transformation every 6 months when new graffiti artists exhibit, meaning your wedding will have a very unique backdrop.
Art galleries are one of our favorite types of city venue. They’re always well lit, visually impressive and come with a great ice breaker – the works of art themselves. Our city centre gallery is a great example and is perfect for more intimate weddings.
For large weddings, warehouses are a fantastic option for a city wedding. Exposed brickwork, steel, and vast open spaces make these spaces a photographers dream. Lighting is key, but whether you opt for festoon, fairy or candle, you’re winning.
Breweries and distilleries make a great city alternative to the rural vineyard wedding. Our imposing Victorian factory, now a thriving brewery, is the perfect example.
The beauty of former industrial buildings, like this old mill space, are that they are complete blank canvases. Add as much or as little as you want, these venues are packed with character and heritage. Ask a florist with creative vision to incorporate the nature of the building into your floral styling. Foliage creeping up walls or pillars look particularly phenomenal.
